The Oklahoma Benefit Information System (OKBIS) provides information about benefits available in Oklahoma. It covers disability, employment, health, welfare and other benefits, attempting to describe as simply as possible the various eligibility rules and the rules for calculating benefit amounts.
If you are using this Help/Information System on the Internet, click the "Show Navigation" link at the upper left corner of this screen to reveal the Contents, Index, and Search features. Also see Using the Help/Information System On The Web for additional features and operational information.
Much of the information is drawn from the Department of Human Service's (DHS's) Policy Online. References to OAC 340 and OAC 317 refer to regulations that can be found online at http://www.okdhs.org/library/policy/
We have attempted to simplify and explain those policies; in doing so we may have left out rarely needed information that is nonetheless important in your particular situation.
IMPORTANT: Before acting on any information contained in OKBIS, you should check with a representative of the applicable agency to ensure that your actions will have the results you intend.
Note that Oklahoma provides its eligibility and benefit payments schedules in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed in order to see those schedules. See Adobe Acrobat Reader - Oklahoma for information on downloading Acrobat if you don't already have it installed on your machine.
Here are links to the various Oklahoma benefits covered in OKBIS:
Developmental Disabilities (DD) Services
Home and Community Based Waiver
Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Vocational Rehabilitation Services
