EAEDC - Categorical Eligibility for Individuals Age 65 or Older - Massachusetts

EAEDC is available to applicants or recipients who are 65 years of age or older and awaiting determination of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. Verification that the applicant or recipient is awaiting SSI benefits is established on a Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) form.

If the person is found to be ineligible for SSI benefits, she or he may be still be eligible for EAEDC, provided the eligibility requirements for EAEDC are met. Ineligibility for SSI is established through a letter of denial from the Social Security office.
