VA Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority (ATLFA)

Virginia Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority (ATLFA) logo with text nameThe Virginia Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority (ATLFA) makes loans to Virginians with disabilities, and their family members, which feature easier loan approval criteria, flexible terms and low interest rates. ATLFA makes loans and loan guarantees to families on fixed incomes, or who have credit problems related to their disability. Loans may be used to purchase special technology, home and vehicle modifications.

ATLFA's mission is to facilitate favorable credit financing of assistive technology for Virginians with disabilities.

Businesses may use loan proceeds to make Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) modifications or to purchase special equipment that will enable them to hire a person with a disability.

Residents of Virginia who do not qualify for an ATLFA loan may be eligible for assistance through the ATLFA Consumer Service Fund (CSF), which has repayment terms based on the individual's ability to repay. See the Consumer Service Fund (CSF) topic for details.

A new ATLFA credit-financing program for Virginians with disabilities, Telework Loans, is available to Virginians with disabilities requiring credit financing for computers and other equipment, including adaptive equipment and / or modifications to their home that will enable them have an employment outcome working from their home or residence or at a telework center if available.
