You may print out your inputs and results after a situation is complete. If you are in the middle of creating a situation, the Printer icon (the 4th icon from the left in the toolbar) is not active and the "Print" option in the "File" menu is gray and will not work. (The status bar on the bottom-right of the screen will say "QUESTIONS PENDING".) You must finish answering the questions for that situation before you can print.
Once a situation is complete, and you are ready to print:
1. There are two ways to start printing. One is to click the toolbar printer icon shown here. The other method is to click on "File" from the Main Menu and then click on "Print…" (or hold down the "Alt" key and type "F" and then "P"):
or + ,
2. Either of the methods above will display the "Print Options" window:
While in the Print Options window, you may select which of the various inputs, outputs, and/or Case Notes you want to print. Using a mouse, simply click the checks for the appropriate boxes on or off. From the keyboard, use the "Tab" key to move the focus box to the input or output you want to change, then hit the "Space bar" to select or deselect that choice:
,
The Print Options window also allows you to select which of the available printers on your computer you wish to print to. By default, the default Windows printer at the time you started WorkWORLD will be displayed. At the lower part of the window, you may choose any printer shown in the drop-down box.
To choose a printer using a mouse, click the small arrow next to the printer name to drop down a list of printers. Highlight your choice and click on it to close the drop-down and make you selection visible from the Print Options window.
To choose a printer from the keyboard, use the Tab key to move focus to the printer name box. Then use the up and down arrow to cycle through the printers until you find the one desired:
,
Click "Okay" (or hold down the "Alt" key and type "O") to print:
+
Click "Cancel" (or hold down the "Alt" key and type "C") to close the Print Options dialog box without printing:
+
3. A "Print" window with various print options will display:
From this window you may print all or some of the print range, choose to print multiple copies, and select whether or not to collate the copies.
To print one copy of the sections you selected in the previous step, click the "OK" button. Using the keyboard, use the Tab key to move focus to the "OK" button and hit the enter key:
,
To print only a selected range of pages, click the Pages button, then enter a From page number and/or a To page number. From the keyboard, use the Alt + P keys to select Pages:
+
Then use Alt + F and/or Alt + T to select the From and/or To pages pane and type in a page number:
+ and/or +
To print multiple copies, use the up and down increment arrows next to the copies pane. From the keyboard, use Alt + C to select Copies, then type in a number of copies to print:
+
If you are printing multiple copies, you can select or deselect collation of the copies by clicking the collation check box. From the keyboard, use Alt + I, then use the spacebar to toggle the collation feature:
+ ,
4. A small "Printing Records" window will pop up and keep you informed about the progress of your print job:
The "Cancel Printing" button on it will allow you to abort printing.
If you attempt to print and your printer is either not turned on, not online, out of paper, etc., you may receive several error messages based on what you are trying to print and what type of printer you have. You must cancel each of these messages to get back to the WorkWORLD main screen.
