Suitable Employment, for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) purposes, is employment that provides income at least equal to the Payment Standard after deduction of:
· Work expenses;
· The $90 TANF Standard Allowance work deduction; and
· Dependent care expenses as paid up to the limit of $200 for a child under age 2 and $175 for a child aged up to 18 or a incapacitated adult.
Suitable Employment must also provide wages at least equal to the minimum wage.
Individuals are expected to work at jobs that are below their skill levels if such positions provide the only available employment.
