DE DSS - Change Reporting Requirements

If you receive cash assistance (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or General Assistance (GA)) you are required to report significant changes that might affect your eligibility for cash assistance as soon as you are aware of the change. When a change is reported, the Division of Social Services (DSS) will review your eligibility considering the new circumstance.

A significant change is defined as any of the following:

·      Change in household size

·      New source of employment

·      Loss of unsubsidized employment or a change in employment status from full-time to part-time which was beyond the recipient's control

·      An increase of forty (40) hours or more in unsubsidized employment per month

·      Receipt of a new source of unearned income, or increases or decreases in existing sources of unearned income totaling $50 or more per month.
