Alert: Working after Trial Work Period

You are in your nine-month Trial Work Period (TWP). Since your TWP will eventually end, you should test to see what happens if your earnings level stays the same or increases after your TWP and three-month Grace Period.

If your earnings level remains the same or increases after your TWP ends, you would need an IRWE or a subsidy for Extra Supervision or Reduced Duties to continue receiving SSDI/Title II cash benefits.

NOTE: Refer to your IRWE and Subsidy recommendations in this Alert for the amount of IRWE or Subsidy needed for your cash benefits to continue if your earnings stay the same.

"WHAT-IF?" STEPS

1. Create a New Situation.

2. Choose the column containing the recommendation as the column on which to base the new situation. (The new column will contain the same answers as the chosen column until you make changes.)

3. Go to the top of the new column and enter a situation label such as "End TWP" if you wish.

4. Go to the Work Incentives section and answer "No" to the question, "Are you currently in either your Trial Work Period (TWP) or Grace Period?"

5. Check the results.
