MassHealth Income Limits

The Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) compares the gross countable monthly income (after any excluded income but before taxes and deductions are subtracted) for all those in your MassHealth family group to the applicable federal poverty level in the chart below. If income is received on a weekly basis, DMA multiplies the weekly income by 4.333 to get a monthly amount.

See each specific MassHealth program to see which, if any, of the income limits apply.

The Division updates these figures each April based on changes made in the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The income levels below reflect the standards as of April 1, 2006. It is believed that these rates will continue in effect until at least March 31, 2007.

The U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) publishes a yearly update for its Federal Poverty Guidelines sometime in late February or early March at:
http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/
If you are using this version after early March 2007, check to see if new Poverty Guidelines have been established.
