If you receive Tenant-Based Voucher assistance, the following applies:
An amount called "Imputed Welfare Income" can be counted as unearned income in calculating your family's gross non-excluded income if your family's Welfare Assistance cash benefit has been reduced or eliminated because you or someone in your family has been determined either to have engaged in fraud or to be in noncompliance with a welfare agency requirement to participate in an Economic Self-Sufficiency program.
The Imputed Welfare Income can be counted as part of your family's income only if you were receiving Section 8 assistance at the time of the sanction.
The Imputed Welfare Income is calculated by your Public Housing Agency (PHA), and by WorkWORLD, as follows:
· WorkWORLD determines the amount you would have received if your Welfare Assistance cash benefit had not been reduced or eliminated. (WorkWORLD asks you for this amount.)
· WorkWORLD subtracts from that an "Offset" equal to the amount of additional income, if any, that your family receives that started after the time the sanction was imposed. When such additional income from other sources is at least equal to the imputed welfare income, the imputed welfare income is reduced to zero. (WorkWORLD also asks you for this amount.)
