VA TANF - Ineligible Alien Parent Deeming

Parents who are living in the home with their TANF-eligible children, but who themselves are not eligible because they are aliens, cannot be counted as members of the TANF Assistance Unit.

Their income, however, can be deemed available to the Assistance Unit. Use the same procedure that is used in deeming from senior parents to minor parents in order to determine TANF financial eligibility and the TANF grant amount. (See VA TANF - Minor Parents Deeming for the procedure.)
