Washington provides State Supplements to Federal SSI benefit payments for residents in one of the living arrangements specified in the table below.
NOTE: Before October 1, 2002 both State and Federal agencies administered SSI Supplements in Washington. The Washington Department of Social and Health Services administered supplemental payments to SSI recipients in Medicaid facilities. The Social Security Administration administered all other supplemental payments. Washington discontinued optional State supplementary payments to all persons in living arrangement codes A, C, G, and H effective June 30, 2002. Washington began administering optional State supplementary payments to Developmentally Delayed clients effective July 1, 2002.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) originally provided the data shown in the table, and it has been updated by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services. Contact your local SSA Claims Representative for further details about eligibility and benefit levels. See the topic "Contacting the Social Security Administration" to find out how to get information or help from SSA.
Notes about specific items, if any, display as colored letters within brackets in the table. Their explanation directly follows the table. You may click on these colored letters within the table to jump immediately to the explanations. Use the Back button in the Help window to return to your place in the table. If additional information is available, it follows after any notes.
Unless otherwise stated, payment levels apply equally to people who are aged, people with blindness, and people with disabilities. Benefit amounts are usually adjusted twice annually, and become effective January 1st and July 1st. The table shows monthly payment levels for calendar year 2011, using state supplementation figures current as of January 2011.
If you are using this version of WorkWORLD after July 1, 2011, you should contact the Washington Department of Social and Health Services for possibly updated numbers.
