Career Center offices in South Dakota provide services to employers and help job applicants identify opportunities and prepare for productive employment.
Career Centers screen and test job seekers to match the employer's needs, and can schedule job interviews and space in the office to conduct them. Services are free for both applicants and employers.
Career Centers also offer on-the-job training programs that can pay up to half of new employees' wages while they're learning the job. Job training can be customized for employers who need workers with specialized skills.
Employers can also earn tax credits when they hire individuals from certain target groups under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit and Welfare to Work Tax Credit programs.
