When calculating client participation for IHHRC, the amount of the basic Supplemental Security Income (SSI) income standard – the SSI Federal Benefit Rate (FBR) – for an individual, a couple, or a dependent (minus the dependent's countable income) is deducted from the recipient’s income for home maintenance costs.
To see the Home Maintenance Allowance amounts, Click on Desk Aid Supp. The Desk Aid for Supplemental Assistance contains the basic payment standards (payment amounts) for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the various State Supplementary Assistance programs.
NOTE: If you are connected to the Internet you can click on Desk Aid for Supplemental Assistance to see the on-line Desk Aid.
NOTE: You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in order to view the on-line version. If you do not have the Reader installed, you can download it free from: www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
These amounts are used as the home maintenance allowance both when the recipient receives an SSI payment and when the recipient’s income exceeds SSI standards.
The dependent’s income is subtracted from the additional home maintenance allowance for a dependent maximum.
When a married couple lives together, the couple allowance is deducted even if only one spouse receives in-home health-related care.
