Food Stamps - Countable Assets - Massachusetts

Countable assets are all those that are included in determining the total value of the household's assets. Jointly owned assets receive special consideration.

Assets counted in the determination of financial eligibility for food stamps include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Cash available to the household

· Cash accounts owned and available to the household

· Securities, such as stocks, bonds, mutual and money market fund shares

· Individual Retirement Accounts and Keogh Plans

· Non-recurring lump sum payments

· The value of land and buildings owned by the household, unless exempted
