TEMP activities may include, but are not limited to:
· Employment of 20 hours or more per week
· An uncompensated volunteer community service placement(s)
· Combination of participation in employment search or education or training requirements and a volunteer community service placement(s)
· A combination of employment of fewer than 20 hours per week and a volunteer community service placement(s)
A TEMP participant must attend the actual scheduled program or work hours per week, perform satisfactorily, and provide Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) with verification of placement and/or participation in program activities.
A participant’ s TEMP community service program placement(s) may be changed at the discretion of DTA. Other specific criteria for participation are defined in 106 CMR 320.
If a parent in the two-parent EAEDC household fails to participate in TEMP, the other parent must participate in TEMP unless exempt. The parent(s) who is required to participate will be ineligible for assistance until he or she begins participation in TEMP for two consecutive weeks.
If a sole parent or the adult caretaker fails to participate in TEMP, he or she shall be ineligible for assistance until he or she begins participation in TEMP for a period of two consecutive weeks or is determined exempt from participation in TEMP.
