If you are an Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipient in Iowa who has one or more dependents, then the maximum benefit that you can receive is increased from the federal amount to one of the amounts in the State Supplement Desk Aid depending upon your circumstances. The actual amount that you will receive each month is decreased by the amount of your countable income. Only your income (or the income of both you and your spouse, if both of you receive SSI and have a dependent) is subtracted from the applicable assistance standard.
For the amounts of the Dependent Person Assistance standards for various family groupings, Click on Desk Aid Supp. The Desk Aid for Supplemental Assistance contains the basic payment standards (payment amounts) for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the various State Supplementary Assistance programs.
