DE Elderly/Disabled Reduced Fare Transportation

Individuals who are elderly or who have a certified disability are eligible for reduced fares on DART First State fixed bus routes. They must have a Medicare Card or a DART Reduced Rate ID. The reduced rates (as of October 2006) are:

·      New Castle County: $0.45 reduced from $1.15

·      Kent and Sussex Counties: $0.40 reduced from $1.00

·      Inter-county Rt. 301 per zone: $0.60 reduced from $1.50

·      Inter-county Rt. 303 per zone: $0.40 reduced from $1.00

Individuals who are Blind ride FREE with DVI photo ID Card.

Even better savings are possible by purchasing a Red DARTCard. A $46 Red DARTCard is priced at $14, a nearly 70% savings compared to the 20% to 40% savings available to others purchasing DARTCard stored-value cards.
