State agencies, community-based organizations, and individuals can help build a state funding pool to make WorkWORLD free to residents of their state by making pledges to support WorkWORLD. Pledges are promises of future funds that will be tracked by the Employment Support Institute (ESI). Achieving Free WorkWORLD in Your State Through Pledges explains how the pledges work, and provides a complete explanation of how you, in collaboration with others, can help to make WorkWORLD freely available to all in your state.

The Employment Support Institute (ESI) releases WorkWORLD™ version 7.90! It functions as either a smart update for current users of any previous version 5.01 or later, or as a smart install for new users and users of older versions. This latest version of WorkWORLD includes many new and updated rules and rates that will help you make better decisions. Several useability features have been improved based on user feedback. The Help/Information System contains many new topics and updated information. As always, this version includes built-in text-to-speech accessibility enhancements and context-sensitive help throughout the program. In addition to coverage of major federal benefit programs for all states, it also includes many new and updated integrated state customization features for Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Virginia. See How to Get WorkWORLD for complete information about obtaining WorkWORLD version 7.90. Read about the release history of WorkWORLD at our Revision History page.

A feature of our website makes it easy to register, verify, or change your email notification list status. Simply go to the Email Notification List Registration section of the download page and follow the instructions there. We always maintain your privacy and never disclose your personal information to anyone.

A number of revised and updated Case Profiles are now available to download and explore. The profiles consist of both a WorkWORLD External Case File (ECF) and a text document that tells the story of the case. Creative case management, long-term planning, reimbursement to Employment Networks, and innovative use of work incentives are highlighted in the profiles.

We have improved the WorkWORLD installation process for users who need to update their existing version. Most current users of version 5.01 or later can now take advantage of our new "one-click" smart update. With the smart update, your existing cases will automatically be transferred and there is no need to uninstall your older version. Smart update allows for automatic installation initiation.

The WorkWORLD Help/Information System is available online. You may find information by looking in the organized Table of Contents or by accessing any keyword listed in the Index. Additionally, you can do a free-form search on any word to find topics that contain it. You can also get the "gist" of a topic in many common languages by using the machine translation features found in the footer of every topic page.

Is your State really advancing self-determination? Read a provocative discussion of self-determination, new outcome measurements, individual self-support, decision support technology, and related issues in the article "Self-Determination, Funding Priorities, and WorkWORLD Benefit and Work Incentive Decision Support System," now available on our download page.

A Presidential Task Force on the Employment of Adults with Disabilities (PTFEAD) archive page on the WorkWORLD website provides information and resources about the now-defunct group. All the major reports from the first cabinet-level inter-agency task force on employment of people with disabilities are available to view and download, along with other related documents.

ESI also has a distance learning component to its website. Currently, there is one Distance Learning Module, comprised of 14 Lessons, available for your use. These lessons will help you understand the motivation for WorkWORLD and give a brief overview of its uses and what the future holds for the software. Upcoming distance learning modules will focus on how to operate the software and explore text results using the Help/Information System so that alternative decision paths can be considered. Check the WorkWORLD website regularly for updates.

ESI provides training and support both at our VCU campus and at local and regional sessions in various states. The training is for people with disabilities, professionals, and advocates who want to learn how to most effectively use WorkWORLD decision support software to make informed choices about work incentive programs associated with various Federal disability and poverty programs. Trainees will use WorkWORLD software in a computer lab setting, with guided instruction from ESI staff. They will receive training materials, continuing education units, and certificates of completion.
