Unemployment Insurance - Conducting Work Search Activities While Collecting UI - Massachusetts

In order to be eligible for UI benefits, individuals must conduct an active search for new employment. Work search activities may be supported through the local One Stop Career Center and should include some or all of the following:

·      Sending out resumes and letters directly to potential employers

·      Responding to employment opportunities advertised in newspapers

·      Contacting professional associations

·      Contacting other employment agencies or services

·      Networking

·      Attending job search workshops

Work search activities must be certified to the Division of Employment and Training (DET) on a bi-weekly certification card.
