North Dakota provides State Supplements to Federal SSI benefit payments for residents in one of the living arrangements specified in the table below.
NOTE: This is a vendor payment program known as the Basic Care Assistance Program.

Unless otherwise stated, payment levels apply equally to people who are aged, people with blindness, and people with disabilities. Benefit amounts are usually adjusted annually, and become effective January 1st. The table shows monthly payment levels for calendar year 2011 (as of 11/01/2010).
If you are using this version of WorkWORLD after January 1, 2012, you should be able to get the updated numbers from your county Social Services Board for the specific facility of interest.

[a] Basic Care Assistance Program pays an amount varying from a minimum of $62.36 to a maximum of $132.84 per day. This rate is set individually for each participating facility, and is comprised of two components -- a Personal Care Rate and a Room and Board Rate.
[b] Couples residing in these living arrangements are treated as two individuals.
[c] The State pays the difference between the basic rate and the SSI payment (less $60 needs allowance), or any other income received by a recipient. Figures shown are based on a 30 day month at the maximum rate.
Living in a licensed basic care facility - Includes recipients in room and board facilities with five or more individuals who because of impaired capacity for independent living require health, social, or personal care services, but do not require regular 24-hour medical or nursing services.

Coverage is limited to persons in licensed basic care facilities or licensed foster homes.
State law provides for recovery of supplementation from the estates of former recipients and deceased spouses of deceased former recipients.
Limited to spouse for spouse (follows Medicaid rules).
Cost of guardianship fee of up to 5 percent of the monthly gross income. Sixty-five dollars plus one-half of the remaining monthly gross earned income. Personal needs allowance of $60.00.
Federal SSI resource limitations apply, except a more restrictive disqualifying transfer provision and more restrictive disqualifying penalties apply.
