MassHealth Reporting Status Changes

Once qualified applicants start getting MassHealth, they must let the Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) know about certain changes within 10 days of the changes or as soon as possible. These include any changes in income, family size, employment, disability status, health insurance, and address. If DMA is not notified about such changes, MassHealth benefits may be lost.

Individuals who are or will soon be aged 65, and do not have children under age 19 living with them, must meet certain income limits and asset requirements to keep getting MassHealth. DMA will send individuals in this situation a new form to fill out to provide the information needed to make a decision about continuance of MassHealth coverage. If it is possible to keep getting MassHealth, individuals will not get medical care through a MassHealth managed care plan, but will instead get medical care from any other MassHealth provider.
