Members of a Food Stamps household may be exempt from the requirements of the Work Program. The following are exempt:
· Any person under 18 years of age or over 50 years of age
· A parent or other household member who is responsible for the care of a dependent child under eighteen or an incapacitated household member
· Persons who are physically or mentally unfit for employment, either permanently or temporarily
· Persons who are physically or mentally unfit for employment due to a temporary illness
· TAFDC/EAEDC Work Program participants
· Unemployment Compensation applicants or recipients subject to and participating in a work program
· Students enrolled at least half time in any recognized school, training program, or institution of higher education
· Persons employed or self-employed, if working a minimum of 30 hours weekly or receiving weekly earnings equal to or greater than the federal minimum wage multiplied by 30 hours
If a Food Stamps Work Program Community Service slot is not available, the individual is not required to meet the Food Stamps Work Program Requirements.
