External Browser

Access to the Internet and to your browser from within the WorkWORLD program and its Help/Information system is critical to proper operation and good user experience. This topic allows you to perform several important tests of browser and plug-in compatibility as well as Internet access.

WorkWORLD has system requirements that include Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6 or later) and Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 7 or later). Both of these programs are available as free downloads. See the Installing WorkWORLD Software topic for additional information.

A number of links and Internet website pages referenced as links in the WorkWORLD Help/Information System topics either open a new window using your computer's default browser (that should be set to Internet Explorer) or use the browser to display within the WorkWORLD help window.

Some of links are to files that are provided in PDF format. In order to open PDF files, you must have Adobe Acrobat (either the full version or the free reader) installed as a helper application (or plug-in) in your Internet browser.

Free Internet Explorer Updates and Support

To check which version of Internet Explorer you have, click Help on its main menu, then select About Internet Explorer from the drop down menu. Using the keyboard rather than a mouse, you may type Alt+H and then A to do the same thing. The latest version of Internet Explorer for Windows is available directly from Microsoft. You can download and install the latest version of the program free of charge by clicking either the icon or link below:

Microsoft provides extensive free help, support tools, patches, and FAQs at the website in addition to downloads.
