Excluding non-countable income, the income of a spouse or parent(s) who lives in the same household as the EAEDC applicant or recipient, is deemed to the EAEDC applicant or recipient. The spouse or parent(s) may not be an applicant or recipient of a cash assistance program administered by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA). Deemed income is treated as follows:
For earned income only, the amount of income deemed is the monthly gross earned income minus the work-related expense deduction, minus an amount equal to the appropriate standard of assistance (including rent allowance, if applicable).
For unearned income only, the amount of income deemed is the result of subtracting an amount equal to the appropriate standard of assistance (including rent allowance, if applicable) from the monthly gross unearned income.
If there is both earned and unearned income, the amount of income deemed is the result of:
· The gross monthly earned income minus the work-related expense deduction
· Plus the gross monthly unearned income
· Minus the appropriate standard of assistance (including rent allowance, if applicable).
