The Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs (DCVA) advises and assists veterans, their dependents, and survivors about eligibility for benefits and entitlements related to education, employment, health, and financial support authorized under current Federal and State laws. Delaware state veterans services include substance abuse counseling, family and individual counseling, transportation, and medical services, among other benefits, such as:
· State Employment - Veterans Preference
And other benefits such as:
· Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Eligibility
· Educational Benefits for Children of Deceased Veterans
· Educational Benefits for Active Members of the Delaware National Guard
· Free Death Certificates
· Hunting, Trapping, and Fishing License Fee Exemptions
· No Charge Notary Services
· Pension Benefits for Paraplegic Veterans
· Exemptions for Registration and Inspection of Motor Vehicles
· Special License Plates
· Veterans Outreach Program
Eligibility for the various benefits differs in accordance with the severity of the disability and the dates of service. (Some benefits are available only to those who served during times of military conflict.)
