Although the federal government usually issues the new annual Federal Poverty Levels (FPLs) in late January or early February, the Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS) waits until the fall of that year to issue the FPLs that become effective from October 1 until the following October.
This topic includes current guidelines first, followed by guidelines from previous years.
