VA Question: Medical Expenses without Medicaid but with Medicare

Enter the amount of your monthly medical expenses without Medicaid but with continued Medicare coverage.

If you have Medicaid coverage, then estimate what your monthly expenses would be if you lost that coverage (whether or not you would actually be able to get and pay for the medical services you need).

If you do not have Medicaid coverage, then enter the amount of your monthly medical needs (whether or not you are able to actually get and pay for the medical services you need).

NOTE: If you receive (or are interested in information about) Medically Needy Medicaid, do not include the amount of your Medicare Part B Premium in your estimated expenses if you get Medicare Part B. WorkWORLD will calculate the premium and list it separately.

WorkWORLD assumes that your Medicare coverage continues even if you lose your eligibility for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) because of the provisions for continuing coverage under the 1999 Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act.

If you want WorkWORLD to compare your situation with a situation in which you do not have Medicare coverage, create a new situation and answer NO to the questions about getting Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B.
