Reverse Offset States

The lists below show the states in which Workers' Compensation and/or Public Disability Benefits are reduced if you also receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits.

Workers' Compensation Beneficiaries:

In some States your Workers' Compensation (WC) benefit is reduced if you also receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. These are called Reverse Offset States. If you receive WC benefits under a recognized Reverse Offset Plan, which was in effect on 2/18/1981, your SSDI benefits are not reduced. States with SSA recognized Reverse Offset plans in effect on or before 2/18/1981 include:

·           California

·           Colorado

·           Florida

·           Louisiana

·           Minnesota

·           Montana

·           Nevada

·           New Jersey

·           New York

·           North Dakota

·           Ohio

·           Oregon

·           Washington

·           Wisconsin.

Public Disability Benefit (PDB) Beneficiaries:

In some States and other situations your Public Disability Benefit (PDB) is reduced if you receive SSDI benefits. If you receive PDB benefits under a recognized Reverse Offset Plan, which was in effect on 2/18/1981, your SSDI benefits are not reduced. States and other situations with recognized Reverse Offset PDB plans in existence before 2/18/1981 were:

·           Hawaii

·           Illinois

·           New Jersey

·           New York

·           Puerto Rico

·           Railroad Unemployment Act.
