If you receive Florida Workers' Compensation (WC) benefits, those benefits will be offset under a recognized Reverse Offset plan. However, no State reduction will be made until Social Security has determined the amount that is otherwise payable. Therefore, Regular Offset of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is applied from the first possible month of offset up to, but not including the month of Social Security’s decision. Beginning with the month of Social Security’s decision, Reverse Offset is applied. Once Reverse Offset has been applied to your WC benefit your SSDI benefit will no longer be reduced.
NOTE: Florida’s Reverse Offset for WC ends at age 62. Therefore Regular Offset applies to SSDI benefits from age 62 up to age 65.
