You may be using your Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS) to help you meet the income criteria for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility and/or to offset work expenses or employability investments by increasing your SSI check.
You should be aware, also, that many benefit programs (such as Food Stamps, Federal Rent Subsidies, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) exclude income that is included in a PASS when deciding your benefit eligibility and level.
You may be able to have such benefits increase while your PASS is in effect if you report your PASS to the agencies that administer your other benefit programs.
NOTE: Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWE's) and Blind Work Expenses (BWE's) are not similarly recognized by other agencies.
