Employability Investments - PASS

An "employability investment" is WorkWORLD’s shorthand term for money that you spend (or save to spend later) that will help you achieve a goal that makes you more employable or increase your earnings. (SSA calls this goal an "occupational goal".)

An employability investment can be money you set aside or spend for training, education, transportation, equipment, software, or whatever SSA agrees can be part of a viable plan to help you achieve a feasible occupational goal.

You can include your employability investments, along with your work expenses (both disability related and non-disability related work expenses) in a Plan for Achieving Self Support (PASS) in order to increase your benefit amount by up to 100% of the investments and expenses. (The actual amount of benefit increase depends on many variables. Use WorkWORLD to see how your benefits and net income will be affected.)
