Additional Information

DSS publishes a brochure titled Our Children, Our Future that explains Foster care and Foster parenting. It is available online at:
http://www.state.sc.us/dss/foster/ocof.html

The Foster Children's Helpline was established to answer calls 24 hours a day from children in foster care. As case managers cannot be available to all their children at every moment, the Helpline assists them by answering questions, making referrals and just listening or offering reassurance. The toll free number is 1-888-722-2580.
