Medicaid Program - Eligibility for Non-TANF Families - Oklahoma

Current recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and people who receive Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) [formerly Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)] are automatically eligible for Medicaid. However, families of one or two adults with children under 18 who do not receive TANF may, in some circumstances, receive medical services.

They must meet the Title XIX Categorically Needy Standard For Adults to be eligible. This monthly countable income standard, based on family size, may be found in Oklahoma DHS Appendix C-1 as Schedule X.

NOTE: The figures are adjusted annually and are changed in April of each year.

If income guidelines cannot be met, it may be possible to meet eligibility standards through the Medical Spend-Down process.

Resource limits must also be met to be eligible for Medicaid.
