Homeowner households who are eligible for LIHEAP may be eligible for low income weatherization assistance.
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC) administers the program. Its Office of Community Development (OCD) receives and distributes the funds, plans, implements and manages the program and contract with the Community Action Agencies (CAAs). OCD also monitors for state and federal compliance and inspects the projects on-site. The CAAs qualify individuals, manage the program at the local level and provide the weatherization services. The local Community Action Agencies are directly responsible for providing the weatherization services to eligible households in the community.
The county offices of DHS conduct outreach to potential recipients of weatherization assistance and coordinate referrals from contractors and CAA offices.
