Food Stamps - Application Procedures for SSI Recipients - Massachusetts

Households consisting of only Supplemental Security Income (SSI) applicants or recipients (i.e., pure SSI households) are categorically eligible for food stamps and may apply for food stamps at a Social Security Administration (SSA) office.

SSA forwards applications to appropriate local Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) offices within one working day after receipt of the signed applications. Information filed with the SSA office is considered verified for food stamp purposes.
