Dependent Care Cost (Under Age Two) - SNAP (Food Stamps)

NOTE: This provision was in effect until October 1, 2008. After that date, all necessary dependent care costs are fully deductible with no cap for dependents of all ages.

In the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamp Program), households may deduct the actual amount paid out-of-pocket for the care of each dependent child living in the home up to $200 per dependent child if the dependent child is under age two. The expenses must be necessary for a household member to accept or continue employment, or get training or education to prepare for employment.

NOTE: This deduction will be calculated by WorkWORLD for you based on the information you provide. When responding to the WorkWORLD question, enter the entire amount of this expense without any exclusion in order to have WorkWORLD correctly calculate your actual expenses.
