Alert: Your Income may Reduce your Food Stamps

If your income increases or decreases, then the amount you receive in food stamps may increase or decrease.

See Food Stamps Benefit Levels, the Food Stamps Income Tests, and Food Stamps Sample Calculations for more information about the effect of income and other variables on your food stamp benefits.

Note that in addition to the exclusions listed in the above references, income and resources that you set aside or spend as part of a Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS) can be excluded when determining food stamp eligibility and benefit levels.

Note also, however, that Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWE's) and Blind Work Expenses (BWE's) can not be similarly excluded.

This version of WorkWORLD does not calculate changes in your food stamps benefit for different situations. You may estimate the changes using the rules and sample calculations referenced above. You should, however, contact the agency that administers your food stamps to find out the exact increase or decrease in your benefits.
