Vocational Rehabilitation Services - Classes and Training - South Carolina

Classes help South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department (SCVRD) clients prepare for employment. These include classes that address how specific disabilities affect work ability, pre-employment classes on how to fill out job applications, develop interview skills and basic computer skills, and employment classes for individuals who are ready to move into the labor force, including job-seeking groups, advanced interview skills, and other topics.

Job-readiness training helps develop positive work behaviors and the physical stamina needed to successfully adjust to a new job. Post-secondary training may be provided to develop the necessary skills to compete in the labor market. Post-secondary training is any training beyond the high school level, including courses at universities, colleges, technical colleges, vocational/trade schools, or business/commercial schools.

SCVRD may arrange for on-the-job training to be provided by a prospective employer. If the training is successful, there is an understanding that the client will be employed in the same or a comparable position.
