Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefits - Entrepreneurship/Small and Disadvantaged Businesses

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has several offices that may be of interest to veterans and/or people with disabilities who are or wish to be entrepreneurs, or who want to become self-employed in order to become self-sufficient. As the movement toward self-determination grows within the disability community, the VA and other offices described below offer help and services designed specifically to foster entrepreneurial activities and small and disadvantaged businesses.

The CVE helps VA contracting offices identify veteran-owned small businesses and works with the Small Business Administration's Veterans Business Development Officers and Small Business Development Centers nationwide regarding veterans' business financing, management and technical assistance needs. Among the services provided are loan guarantee programs, venture capital assistance, entrepreneurial development programs, government contracting assistance, and Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
