You are currently participating in a Vocational Rehabilitation program. Continuing to participate and make progress toward the goals of your program can extend your eligibility for SSDI (Title II) benefits until you complete the program if :
1) Your Extended Period of Eligibility (EPE) ends and your countable monthly earnings are greater than the Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) amount.
2) You no longer have a disability but your benefits were extended because you were participating in this program. (You must have begun the program before your medical condition improved; and SSA must have determined that your completion of the program, or your continuation in the program for a specified period of time, would significantly increase the likelihood that you will not have to return to the disability benefit rolls.)
Your benefits generally will be stopped the month you complete the program or you stop participating in the program for any reason, or if SSA determines that your continuing participation in the program will no longer significantly increase the likelihood that you will be permanently removed from the disability benefit rolls.
It is important that you notify SSA when your Vocational Rehabilitation ends to avoid a costly overpayment.
