The Division of Mental Health (DMH) provides services and resources for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses and children with severe emotional disturbances. These include medical, social, educational, vocational and other support services necessary to meet basic human needs. DMH is one of the divisions within the Department of Human Services (DHS).
The mission of the Division of Mental Health is to promote the highest level of personal independence for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses or serious emotional disturbances.
DMH also has responsibility for the delivery of mental health services within the state's adult and juvenile correctional facilities.
