Massachusetts offers health-care programs for children under age 19, even if they are not eligible for MassHealth. The Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) sends the names of uninsured children who cannot get MassHealth to the Department of Public Health's Children's Medical Security Plan (CMSP).
Any child age 18 or younger who lives in Massachusetts, is currently uninsured for primary or preventive health care, and is not eligible for primary or preventive health care coverage through MassHealth is eligible for coverage under CMSP.
