Since March 1949, Georgia Industries for the Blind (GIB) has been providing employment opportunities to individuals with severe visual impairments. Under the auspices of the Georgia Rehabilitation Services, Georgia Industries for the Blind works in conjunction with the Vocational Rehabilitation Program to provide employment to visually impaired individuals from across the state. GIB is also associated with National Industries for the Blind (NIB), which operates as the administrative organization for the Javits-Wagner-O'Day Program (JWOD).
In 2002 GIB provided employment to over 100 visually impaired persons with annual sales of about $7 million. Plants are located in Bainbridge and Griffin.
All employees earn competitive wages and are eligible for a full benefits package. GIB is always looking for visually impaired individuals who are seeking meaningful and fulfilling employment opportunities. Interested individuals should contact GIB's Human Resources Manager:
