The Low Income Sewer and Water Assistance Program (LISAWAP) provides eligible households that receive both sewer and water bills a benefit of up to 25% of their annual bills, up to a maximum dollar amount. Once qualified by a fuel assistance agency, the household’s sewer and water bills are requested and benefit is paid directly to the billing agents. Applicants do not have to accept Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) benefits to qualify for the Sewer and Water Assistance Program. Income eligibility for the program is the same as the LIHEAP guidelines.
