Guardianship services are available for people receiving Home and Community-Based Waiver services and for people who are residents of the Resource Centers (Northern Oklahoma Resource Center at Enid, Southern Oklahoma Resource Center at Pauls Valley, or the Greer Center).
A guardian is a person appointed by the court as a general or limited guardian of the individual and his/her property.
Services include assessment of the need for a guardian, assistance in locating a family member or volunteer to serve as guardian and vouchers for attorney’s fees for the establishment of a guardian. The maximum payment for a voucher is $700.
If the parent or spouse is seeking guardianship, there is a financial eligibility standard of an adjusted gross annual income of $60,000. For other family members or volunteers, there is no financial eligibility cut-off.
For additional information, call one of the Guardianship Coordinators listed below. This information from the DDSD website is believed current as of October 2006.
