Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) - Application Procedures - South Carolina

If you wish to apply to the South Carolina Department of of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN), contact the DSN Board that serves your county (see below for contact information).

A service coordinator will contact you within eight (8) work days to arrange an evaluation meeting. At the meeting, you’ll be asked to provide information and access to records to help determine your eligibility for services.

Determining your eligibility for services should take less than three (3) months. If your eligibility is not determined within this time, you should contact the service coordinator or the service coordination supervisor at the DSN Board in your county.

Once you are found eligible, you’ll continue working with your DDSN service coordinator to discuss your goals for employment and independent living. Additional information will be gathered to develop a personal plan to help you reach your specific goals.
