Licensed and registered daycare providers who wish to join the ABC Child Care program should call 1-800-262-4416. Providers are eligible to receive a variety of incentives for participating in the program.
Licensed or registered daycare providers must notify ABC Special Needs in writing in advance of any rate increase. Those who request payment above the limit of their day care classification must provide justification for the request. Providers may bill once a week, once every two weeks, or once a month. Payments are typically processed within two weeks.
Providers who have questions or want training regarding how to best serve a child with special needs can contact the University of South Carolina’s University Affiliated Program for free consultation. Call 803-935-5238 or –5278 for information.
Access Grants may be available to childcare providers for the purchase of adaptive equipment, minor building repairs or renovations, supplies, and vehicle modifications, among other investments to facilitate placement of children or to remove barriers that may inhibit acceptance of children with special needs into child care. The Access Grants are only available for children currently receiving ABC Special Needs Voucher services.
Complaints about provider care may be directed to 1-800-763-2223 and the county Department of Social Services daycare licensing office.
