A person who holds a voucher for the Alternative Housing Voucher Program (AHVP) may move anywhere in the state and maintain eligibility for the program. When a participant relocates, the local housing authority for that jurisdiction will determine the value of the voucher and maintain administrative responsibility for the voucher.
Voucher assistance will not be payable to a participant who relocates into any Federal Census tracts where, according to Federal Census data, at least 40% of the residents have incomes at or below the then current Federal Poverty Level Standard.
If a participant moves to an area where a local housing authority is not available, the voucher will be administered by a regional non-profit housing agency.
