Text Results - Alerts

An "Alert" will appear in Text Results to inform you that something has occurred or may occur that you may need to take action on.

The initial onscreen Alert gives you a very brief explanation about the situation. If you click the "More Information" link under the Alert text, you can see a more in-depth explanation. (See Text Results for an explanation of how to move to and activate Text Result "More Information" links using the keyboard.)

Example:

You are an SSI recipient using a PASS in order to attend classes to improve your job skills so you can be promoted into a better job. You use WorkWORLD to understand how your benefits may be affected once you reach your occupational goal. Due to the raise you will receive once you are promoted, your earnings will cause you to be ineligible for SSI cash (and consequently Medicaid) benefits. WorkWORLD alerts you:

Screenshot of typical Alert in Text Results, showing Alert title (Alert - Keeping Medicaid) in red text at top, followed by text body with explanation of alert (warning you that by losing eligibility for SSI by significantly increasing your monthly income, you lose your automatic Medicaid eligibility), and blue link to More Information at bottom of alert.

Clicking on the "More Information" link below the alert brings up the following help screen:

Screenshot of WorkWORLD Help/Information System window, showing topic titled Alert: Keeping Medicaid, with topic text explaining that SSI benefit is zero because of earnings and that as a work incentive called 1619(b) SSA allows you to keep Medicaid as long as needed to continue working. The topic also has a hyperlink for more information about continued Medicaid coverage under 1619(b).

The help screen provides additional details and further explains the Text Results Alert, indicating you may be eligible for an ongoing program to maintain your medical coverage. In Text Results, any underlined phrase may be clicked on and will lead to details and explanations in other parts of the hyper-linked Help System. In this case, there is a link to another topic with further information.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Consult with your local SSA office (and the agencies that administer any other benefits you may have) about your WorkWORLD results before you take action based on those results. If possible, you should print a copy of your inputs and outputs and have them with you when you make the call and/or go into the office.
