VA Auxiliary Grants

Auxiliary Grants (AGs) are a State administered income supplement for recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (and individuals who would be eligible for SSI except for income) who reside in a licensed assisted living facility or an approved adult foster care home (also called an adult family care home). The Department of Social Services and local Social Services offices administer AGs.

AGs help individuals cover the cost of staying in the facility or home (room, board and services). They also provide AG recipients with a Personal Allowance.
